Research Students Annual Summer Conference.
The annual conference takes place this year on the 17th – 18th June 2015.
This event spans the schools of Art & Design, Business, Heath & Education, Media & Performing Arts, Science & Technology and the Institute for Work Based Learning. It is an excellent opportunity to facilitate cross-fertilisation and sharing of ideas across schools, discover the breath of research being undertaken and discuss and develop ideas.
This year we have taken the cross school interaction of research to another level of exploration of common grounds and interest we are confident that all participants will recognise that we have much in common in terms of critical thinking and asking meaningful research questions.
We thought this year it would be helpful to provideResearch Students with a workshop for honing there presentation and poster skills. Providing you information to create a presentation and poster that could promote your research in a creative and engageing way.
Presentations and Posters
This workshop on the 25th March 2015 will focus on how to successfully prepare and deliver oral and poster presentations. We will examine the similarities and differences of the two and discuss what qualities contribute to an engaging presentation. In addition, the following questions will be discussed:
- What does your audience need to know?
- What is the best way to organise your ideas?
- How can you communicate your ideas effectively?
Please also find a link below to the LDU website which provides materials and a short video about presentations.
